It can be spelled either way as I see it. The H in Greek is aspirated and therefore in modern Greek writing often the H is dropped completely, however, in past writing it's not. This means that the H is barely heard, it is interesting to also note that the Seiyuu were pretty good at getting the h to be aspirated.
Anime: The history for Elios is a little different in the anime than the manga. For one he does turn into a pegasus. The anime also shows that he permanently has the horn on top of his head, except when it turns into the crystal only in Elysion..
It shows more of the fight with him and Neherenia. It shows some of Elysion. But his history is a bit sketchy as it were. There is a eensy weensy bit more background info in the manga than anime.
The anime doesn't really explain his role in Elysion or how he got there, though it does explain the connections and keeps most of the basic facts straight. Personality: Manga: He is separate from Pegasus. Pegasus is his favorite horse. His horn also disappears and the golden crystal was discovered when Helios dies and Chibiusa mourns for him. Pegasus , also known as Helios , is one of the main characters of the Dream arc.
Helios is the personification of the Sun in Greek mythology. He is sometimes identified as the sun god, however, that role is also associated with Apollo, depending on the sources. Other sources claim that they are one and the same. As Pegasus, he has the appearance of a white horse with large white wings and a long, golden horn on his head, which in reality is the Golden Crystal.
He has a red, teardrop-shaped jewel on his forehead and his eyes are orange. Helios comes from the hidden dream realm of Elysion.
He is the Guardian of the Golden Crystal and protector of dreams. When Helios refused, Nehelenia took him captive. But one night, many years later as he hung there bound and helpless, a dream light shone on him. It was the light of an incredibly beautiful dream. At first, Helios refuses to trust Chibiusa with any information, even his own name, but he does aid both she and her mother, by endowing them each with his own power.
He helps them reach Super Senshi status, and gives them new weapons and stronger powers. As each episode goes by, he slowly learns to trust Chibiusa, and begins to show her his true form. It isn't long at all before Chibiusa falls in love with Helios. After Chibiusa's Golden Dream Mirror is revealed, Pegasus flies back into her mirror, and she is then kidnapped by the baddies.
Nehellenia keeps Chibiusa temporarily locked away in her private area, but Chibiusa and Pegasus are freed for a time by the Amazoness Quartet. Upon their re-capture however, Helios's Golden Crystal is taken and he seemingly dies. Chibiusa is then put under a deadly "Eternal Sleep" spell Repeat of Beryl? However, Helios's spirit appears to Mamoru, and Helios takes him back to their old kingdom, as Mamoru becomes Prince Endymion.
After telling the Prince of Nehellenia and the Golden Kingdom , Helios is later revived, and he re-awakens Chibiusa with a kiss.
