It is only in our modern days of ignorance that these books are given any credence or weight. I do not think that there is anything there of any importance, however. I agree wholeheartedly that God and Jesus are one! That is the whole point of the gospel of John.

I do not know anything about lights and angels, my friend. What I would suggest is that you read and study what is inside your Bible, especially the traditional books that are actually in the legitimate Bible, rather than Gnostic gospels.

Then, you will get to know the God Who wrote the Bible, and you will have many more words of praise to offer Him. September 6, at pm. October 11, at pm. Thank you for your kind words. I am happy you enjoyed the article. Yes, I do believe that everything in the Bible ties in some way to the kingdom God will someday bring to this world.

February 16, at pm. March 7, at pm. March 9, at pm. About the overall theme of the Bible. Luke What I understand is that where God reigns, His kingdom has come, that is in those who have surrendered to Him. How do you explain the verses about kingdom that seem to be referring to present?

Just some more thoughts. God is love and all of His characteristics stem from His love: justice, mercy, etc. His government is love and is established through love. April 10, at pm. The fact that God loves mankind, in spite of the fact that we constantly make it clear how little we deserve it, is an obvious thing that shines from the pages of the Bible. So this word does not mean present.

By proclaiming the kingdom was engizo , they were not saying the kingdom was already present, but rather that it had drawn near. I do think that the believer of today has been translated into the governmental control of the Son of His love. In other words, His love is supposed to so captivate us that we would spend our lives for His smile.

If we were under His government, then when we break its rules, He would be obligated to punish us. Since He does not do this, it is clear that we are not actually being controlled by His governmental power. As I said, love is the only power He is putting forth to control us, but many have found love to be a very powerful control indeed! One problem with thinking that the love of God for mankind is the theme of the Bible is that this love is ongoing and constant.

There is no motion forward with that as the theme, like writing about going on an epic quest to discover an object you already have sitting on your dining room table. It is the goal toward which He is moving and the end that His love is seeking to accomplish. April 6, at am. John , For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Christ in the first verse, Christ in the last verse and on almost every page of my Bible. Who was crucified before the world began. Christ is all and in all. April 24, at pm. Of course, one cannot ever underestimate the importance of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is all and in all, He is the beginning and the end, and He fills the Bible from the first to the last page.

As I said in my article, the Lord is the main character of Scripture. This cannot be denied. Scripture teaches us about Him and His works and ways. Our primary goal in studying Scripture should be to get to know Him. Yet this does not mean that Christ is the theme of the Bible. From the beginning of the Bible to Its end, there is a plan that God has had in mind, a purpose toward which He is working, and a goal which all His works have been aimed at accomplishing.

The salvation of mankind and restoration of what was lost in the fall is all for the purpose of bringing about His great goal. That goal was what Christ taught during His ministry. It is what He died to bring about.

It is what the apostles proclaimed throughout their ministries. That goal is the kingdom of God. I understand and fully acknowledge the importance of the Lord Jesus Christ, as you have so eloquently argued. October 17, at am. Interesting article for finding a theme of the Bible. Second advent was a theme that I had heard before. Are you referring the kingdom of God as the reign of God? November 14, at pm. January 27, at pm.

It amazes me how many people claim to study the bible and think the theme of the Bible is Love, or have no idea at all. February 27, at pm. Yes, it is amazing how many people miss the fact that this is the theme, especially considering how much it dominates the pages of Scripture.

Genesis really only makes sense in light of this reality. The cross, while key to this victory taking place, did not actually overwhelm his head as yet, as it will be when the kingdom comes. April 15, at pm. February 14, at pm. April 3, at pm. That truth is central to all my ministry.

John clearly states for God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son that whoever shows faith in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. April 8, at pm.

Your misquotation of John shows an ignorance of the use of articles in the Greek language. The Greek language has no set word order, as English does. Therefore, one has to go by other clues, such as the case of nouns, in order to determine what function they are serving in a sentence.

This does not work when one comes to a sentence that follows the construction of a subject, verb, predicate nominative. In this case, both the subject and the predicate nominative are nouns in the nominative case. It becomes nearly impossible to tell which word is the subject and which the predicate nominative, since word order does not reveal this.

Therefore, the standard practice in Greek was to put the definite article in front of the subject and not in front of the predicate nominative. One great example of this is I John There are two possibilities. The answer is that the definite article reveals it. God is the subject, not love. God is love, but love is not God. To translate it the second way is blasphemous and wrong.

John is another example of this same principle. You can muddle the translation in this first verse, but you cannot change the fact that the book itself was written to prove that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

That He and His Father are one. That if you have seen Him, you have seen the Father. He was not created. He is Jehovah. He is God. May 21, at pm. Saul aka Paul receiving the Mark of the Beast in his hand ACTS 28 , shaking the Beast off into the fire in a sign of contempt for Moses and Jesus Numbers 21, John 3 , Saul not dying, Saul believed by the people to be a god, Saul not denying being a god, Saul receiving many gifts from them, Saul performing many healing miracles for them in his own power instead of in the Name of Jesus.

July 2, at pm. Are you quite serious? I am afraid you are, and that is the sad part. It is you, not I, who is not taking into account the entire story of the Bible. I do not think Jesus was the angel whom those in Sodom and Gomorrah tried to rape. He was with two angels, and when they went on into the city, He stayed behind with Abraham.

It was His two companions who went into the city and whom the citizens attempted to rape. I will admit he was a disappointment, but so were a lot of other kings, including ones God set on the throne. Your raving against the tribe of Benjamin is completely one-sided. I believe this loyalty was probably due to the kind and gracious way David treated them after he took the throne, in spite of all the wrongs Saul had done him.

Fortunately for them David was a far more gracious man than you are, my friend. It is not just Paul who claimed to have contact with the Lord Jesus, but the Holy Word of the living God that says he did.

You, on the other hand, set yourself against the Word of God and deny this. Is a snake bite in the heel also the mark of the beast, my friend? Because Christ Himself receives that, Genesis Your libel against him is stunning. To claim that Paul did not teach grace is just plain ignorant. Paul taught grace like no other man. This proves that your claims are false, and you yourself are not spiritual.

You can call Paul Satan if you wish. Yet I wish you would look at whom He was saying that of! It was His enemies, my friend, not those of His household. You have set yourself up as an enemy of God and His Word. You need to wake up. Needless to say, I believe anyone who thinks that the theme of the Bible is that Jesus is God and Paul is Satan is very misguided and foolish. August 10, at pm. I see that this article is quite old however I would like to ask a defining question. When referring to the Kingdom is it just the kingdom as a whole or is there a focus or reason for a Kingdom?

It seems to me that the main theme although related may be slightly different. God says that he has revealed the end from the beginning. He in the beginning created for himself a son Adam see the genealogy in Luke and in revelation God states who will be his son. He has desired godly offspring and that is a theme that fits all of scripture and is found throughout all of the bible. August 28, at pm. What as a whole? What are you talking about? When I originally wrote this article, it was meant as the introductory article to a series I was writing on the Kingdom of God.

I realize that this article has become far more popular and is more widely read generally than the rest of the series. I have to take this as it comes, but really it was meant to go with the other articles. I have actually returned to this series, and my most recent posts are continuing it. It is certainly true that God desires to call Godly people to follow Him. He has been doing that all through history, and He has been finding them since Godly Abel. However, besides merely His love of people and of righteousness, why is He calling them?

What for? What is He going to do with them once He has them? I believe the answer to these questions is the Kingdom of God. God seeks Godly people to populate His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is the theme of the Bible. April 1, at pm. What you say does interest me, for the sanctification of His name is indeed a very important thing to God. God wishes all to know the truth about Him, to believe it, and to set Him apart in their hearts as the all-great Being that He is.

There are many names God calls Himself in Scripture. They all have to do with His great character, and revealing different aspects of it. It is the goal everything is moving towards. Of course, when His kingdom comes, His name shall be sanctified. Then, when He sent out His apostles in the Acts period, the goal was not just to proclaim the Kingdom of God, but also to proclaim Jesus Christ, Acts He was proclaimed as the Messiah, Acts He was proclaimed as Savior of the world, I John He was proclaimed as the Lord God Himself, Philippians Compare this to Isaiah Jehovah there declares that every knee shall bow to Him.

Philippians shows that every knee shall bow to Jesus Christ. September 24, at pm. Love cost me my family of Providence so I lost faith in what I believe was the evidence of Mankind. October 6, at pm. I am afraid I have no idea what you are talking about. How did love cost you your family? And what is a family of Providence? I am not even sure what faith in the evidence of Mankind is.

I think mankind exists, and to believe it does not would be madness. To put faith in mankind, however, would be great foolishness. November 14, at am. The Main theme is the Second coming of Christ.

December 1, at pm. What you say is very interesting, and it is indeed a worthy thought. As for God getting the glory, that is, Jesus Christ getting the glory, of course that is the goal and should be the goal of every one of us. May He get all the glory and all the praise! The second coming certainly relates to that, but it is far from all there is to it. June 17, at am. The theme of the Bible is love. What are the most important commandments?

Even when God doled out punishment, it was out of love. Everything God put Joseph through was to reconcile that family. July 27, at pm. You are quite insistent on love being the theme!

And I certainly agree that love is a very important aspect of God. In fact, it would be difficult to over-emphasize it, as God Himself is love and His love is so great it is nearly incomprehensible to fallen man.

We could perhaps even take love back to the beginning and suggest is was a motivating factor in God creating in the first place: so that He would have people to whom He could express His love. Yet I think love as a suggestion for the theme of the Bible is off base. If love is the theme, it should explain all that God does in a clear way.

Yet I think you would have trouble explaining every event in the Bible from the standpoint that God did it just to show love. Equally important to God is His righteousness, and some of His actions reflect that more than His love. Not to say that righteousness is unloving. But it is hard to explain why God destroying people is just for the purpose of showing His love, as much of a benefit as that might be to the people who remain.

God may wish to love all, but ultimately He cannot love those who reject His love, His righteous standards, and ultimately Himself. God loves us in order to do what? Not just to save us, for when God made us in the beginning He must have had a goal in doing so, and we did not need saving when we were first created for God made us upright before Adam sinned. God has always had a goal, and His love has had a purpose to which He wants to lead us.

That is why I believe that the kingdom of God is the theme of the Bible. It is what God, in His love, has made us all for. July 19, at am. We are waiting for the day when the Messiah will bring peace to the Earth and establish a new heaven and a new earth.

Read this verse and meditate on this future day. We have this hope in Christ. God bless and share this good news with others! With the advent of everything theme a passionate message of hope for all creation is revealed. Like David, this makes me wonder, what is man that you are mindful of him?

Christ has gloriously become the hope of glory and the hope of nations. Just Hebrews said, He is the express image of the glory of God, Christ is the demonstration of our hope. Like Like. Thank you for responding brother. You are right. God is amazing in all His ways. Have a great week! Like Liked by 1 person.
